Description

2006 S Chassis FULLY converted to a 2012 R (PDK) driveline, body and electrical. 21k mi. on chassis, 13K mi. on current driveline…Speedo/Odo is the correct unit out of the donor car, I have all documentation / paperwork. The 2012R Donor was purchased as a totaled vehicle and I simply moved everything over to my current race chassis, converting it to a Gen2. 2006-2012 Cayman tubs / shells are the same. Considering the cage and other modifications, it made more sense to swap everything in vice going through all of the drama of preparing another chassis…plus it made me a 987 expert! 😜 The R ECU/TCU retains their original factory tunes and the engine is unmodified with the exception of a Fabspeed CAI, GT3 TB, 997S Intake, GT2 Oil Cooler, PS delete and Fabspeed Headers / Race Exhaust. Original Intake / TB will convey with sale. Two working factory keys will be provided. The steering column lock/magnet has been relocated behind the radio console, again, conforming to various race sanctioning body standards. Interior is stripped, painted and features an amazing cage, fabricated with NASCAR bar (Left side), X-brace (Right), roof cave in support, etc. by Competition Cages (Richmond) and custom Aluminum Diamond Plate Floor Panels…along with some other nice touches. Racing Seats / Mounts, Fire System, Wheel/Paddle Shifters convey. Suspension is comprised of a recently rebuilt 2-way MCS Shock set up / MCS mono ball Camber Plate Mounts w/Tarret and RSS components throughout. Racing Engine / Trans Mounts (all isolated), mono ball Tie Rods F/R (all adj.), RSS adj. mono ball Control Arms, all four corners. CSF Radiators (3) and a Genesis driven aux cooling system for the PDK is ran all the way forward for more capacity. Custom GT3 Cup style Electric / Hydraulic assist steering system, eliminating the pump / lines out of the engine compartment…it is easily serviced w/ custom fabricated connectors to the factory steering rack. Brakes are factory Calipers, replaced a few years ago, PFC 2pc. Rotors front, Zimmerman drilled rear, GT4 rear brake ducting and Goodridge Stainless Lines all four corners, replaced every 3-4yrs in the name of safety. Current fluid is the good Motul stuff, never a problem with brakes. I am currently cleaning up the passenger side wiring harness and installing a small relay bank to feed the Electric Steering / PDK Cooler pump & radiator fan (R-side) on a relay…this will allow additional power sources for a Cool Suit, etc. Body panels are all Gen2 factory body work, Lighting and Electrical. Factory Window glass slides right in for open transport and those rainy days at the track. 100% Carbon Fiber Aero Splitter / Wing from the ITC series…is also Interseries, PCA and NASA compliant. Two sets of Forgeline GA3R wheels convey, yes…one set being my famous Viper Red lipped set! …the other all black. (Both should be pictured)…there’s $10K right there! This car was dominant in the ITC series and garnered a win almost every time we showed up…it was also a front runner/podium car in NASA GTS3 for several seasons in Gen1 form. Everything is current on maintenance / fluids, new Vacuum Pump, A/O Separator, good rotors, tons of extra pads and whatever else is appropriate to hand over with the vehicle. This Spring I prepared it for this track season, attended HyperFest @VIR (May), ran it 3 sessions on Saturday and decided to pack everything up on Sunday…we have too much going on with an out of state move so it’s time to let it go. NO data / video is currently set up in the vehicle but I could arrange some decent AIM components / cabling, all negotiable. Car will be sold via Bill of Sale as it was purchased as a salvage unit from IIA in 2010 and immediately converted to a race chassis. It needed a new driver side fender, front bumper cover and the frunk pan has been replaced…it appeared to have run up a curb / embankment…the aluminum hood is still original! The car has been fantastic since day one…I’ve spared No expense in upgrading / maintaining the platform. I’ve been working on the 987 platform ever since it came out and have built several of these race cars for clients who have all become forever friends of mine. It’s a head turner, it speaks for itself and performs as good as it looks. It’s consistently knocked out 2.01-2.02 laps @VIR (on Hoosier R6) in Gen1 form and should (by comparison) yield a sub 2 min. Lap @VIR in its current form, as other 987.2 builds have…tire of choice / driver skill being the BIG factors here. I have not run data nor actually raced the vehicle since the Gen2 conversion (due to a major injury) but have plenty of video and hundreds of laps playing around with my friends in its current form. I’ve had NO major incidents with it since a longtime friend purchased it from auction (2010) and had one of the best local body shops bring it back to life. It’s a solid car, it aligns / balances well but it’s time to move on from racing and pick up something with factory aero and a Bluetooth radio…perhaps heated seats. 😁 As there are many many things I’ve left out, it’s likely I’ll tweak the description as I have time, but PLEASE…respect my time…if you’re not a fan of the pricing, choice of components, the fact that the seats and fire system are a few years old…or if you just can’t stand the fact it’s a salvage chassis that’s been brought back to swan status…well then. 😉 I can deliver within a few states, we are moving to the Greenville area of SC, from Chesapeake, Va so I’m flexible with respect to any destination between here and there and possible destinations elsewhere…let’s talk.
