Description

1988 BMW 325i Convertible E30 — 5-Speed Manual — 137k Original Miles — Silver/Red — SMOGGED — $13,500 Only 9,000 miles since 1998. This car has been preserved rather than used up — four owners in 38 years, and I've had it since 2017. Silver over cardinal red, factory 5-speed manual, completely stock engine and drivetrain, no modifications of any kind. Original bottlecap wheels. Two keys and the original tool kit. It drives the way an E30 should. Shifts cleanly, pulls smoothly, and it's just been detailed. SMOG AND REGISTRATION — SORTED Just passed California smog. Certificate is current and valid for 90 days from the date, so the new owner can register and drive it, in state or out. The car is currently on Non-Operational status purely because I drive it so rarely — never for any mechanical reason. Clean title in hand, free and clear, plus a clean CarFax. JUST DONE — LAST 1,000 MILES Clutch, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder — all replaced Transmission, differential, and power steering fluids flushed Oil and filter Battery — 6 months old Hankook Kinergy tires — installed 2/2023, under 500 miles, full tread Brake discs and pads — approx. 5,000 miles ago Professional detail TOP AND INTERIOR Convertible top replaced in 2015 and still presents like new. Rear vinyl window is clear with no significant haze. Seats were reupholstered in OEM cardinal red leather and are in excellent shape. Door cards and rear top leather are original and show honest wear for the year. Sun visor leather is torn where it meets the metal arms. RECORDS Every maintenance log for the last 10 years comes with the car. HONEST CONDITION — IT'S 38 YEARS OLD I'd rather you hear this from me than find it in the driveway: No record of a timing belt under my ownership — plan on it A/C doesn't work (heater does) Minor valve cover gasket seep, no other leaks Suspension has never been refreshed — some age-related squeaks Window switches are finicky; they work, the connection is just sticky Small paint chip on the right side of the hood, slight dent on the left Paint has been retouched in spots but presents well Light surface oxidation in a few places — nothing structural, and none of the usual E30 rot Cooling system history unknown before my ownership Body and structure are solid. This is a sorted driver with honest patina, not a show car and not a project. Happy to arrange a drive for a serious buyer — the car is insured on my end. Lawndale 90260. Call or text . Cash, in person. No trades, no shipping brokers, no "my buyer will mail you a check."
