Description

1994 Mazda Miata R Package. Bought it earlier this year to drive while my other car was in the shop. Sad to see it go, but I'm moving and can't keep it. 1.8L / 5-speed manual. R Package with Torsen limited-slip differential and no power steering. Steering feel is fantastic and the car is an absolute blast to drive. Previous owner set it up for autocross with Koni race shocks, polyurethane bushings and a loud exhaust. The suspension is very stiff--I don't recall exactly but somewhere in the neighborhood of 600lb/ft--so slow down for speed bumps unless you want your teeth knocked out! The block and head have been rebuilt/worked on at various points, although I don't remember all the details. It starts every time and pulls strong. I do have maintenance records from the previous owner going back to the 2000s with all the work documented. Soft top is in good condition and does not leak. Salvage title from a front-end collision in the early 2000s. It was repurchased afterward and built into an autocross car. There is some minor paint mismatch on the front end that's noticeable in certain lighting. Known issues: Oil pressure sender is bad--it was working when I bought the car but the gauge is now stuck at zero. Some vibration at highway speeds. Could be wheel balance, but I haven’t investigated it. Great weekend car--light, handles great, and will happily kick the tail out. Would make a great autocross car, or potentially a fun little drift car with a cheap set of tires.
