Description

This ugly, lovely Miata is my daily and has been for 6 years. She needs work, and I've done a lot over the years, but I've fallen behind. It has about 183,000 on it and moderately new BF Goodrich G-Force Comp-2 tires. The car had a problem where it is dying at idle sometimes. I have not been able to figure out why. This problem has gone away lately but could return. It will not currently pass smog. I think it needs a new catalytic converter. It was fine until about a year ago when these problems emerged. I paid off the back registration fees and put it into PNO. Stuff that works: ➕The car kind of works; it could hypothetically physically be driven down the highway illegally, but underlying problems should be fixed first ➕The radio and speakers ➕The heater ➕The roof goes down 😎 (it doesn't go up so well) ➕The tires are nice ➕New headlights (and fog lights are ready to be installed) ➕New battery Stuff to fix: ➖The car is very dusty from sitting in my covered parking space for the past year ➖Dashboard is cracked and could use some love ➖Driver door panel has a hole under the elbow ➖Driver seat needs a new cover because the foam is showing ➖Driver window sometimes sticks out about an inch above the door ➖Passenger door handle somehow split in two when I opened it recently. You can glue 'er back together! ➖The hood needs painted. The whole thing needs painted! Paint it. Or don't? ➖The convertible roof has a small leak when you wash the car ➖The cruise control only works if you hold the clutch at very specific angles ➖The car is no longer smogged; the catalytic converter probably needs to be replaced. ➖The A/C currently has been vacuumed out. It was working fine before I wanted to do a cleanout, but I never finished it :( ➖A better antenna setup should be added; has a cool bullet one now ➖It eats oil; it has always been heavy on oil usage ➖The belts sometimes scream on startup; I've replaced them a couple of times–it's probably a game of tightening them This car is very much in need of a person who has a garage in which it can be given a good mechanic treatment. I personally have done many street fixes on 'er, but eventually, that simply isn't enough. There's a lot of life here, or so I think, but it needs someone with time, tools, and space. https://www.faxvin.com/order/result?vin=JM1NB353910201952 ----- ⚠️ IMPORTANT SELLER'S NOTE (CALIFORNIA BUYERS): This car is being sold strictly AS-IS as a Mechanic's Special / Project Car. Smog: It currently DOES NOT pass CA smog (likely needs a catalytic converter or fresh O2 sensors). Registration: Back registration fees have been paid; currently registered PNO ("Planned Non Operation") Condition: It drives, but should be trailered due to stalling issues and expired tags. The price reflects these issues. The buyer is responsible for all smog repairs. Ideally suited for an engine swap, track build, or parts donor.
