Description
Championship-Winning 2004 NB Spec Miata Race Package — $40,000
Race-ready 2004 NB Spec Miata for sale. This is far more than a race car—it is a proven, front-running package that includes the championship-winning “Orange Rocket,” multiple sets of wheels and tires, extensive spare parts, a spare set of Penske shocks, a heavy-duty transmission with Mazda Motorsports competition gearsets, and everything needed to go racing immediately.
The car has the cosmetic dents and scratches expected of a competitive Spec Miata, but it has never been wrecked.
Known as the “Orange Rocket,” this car helped my son win the 2025 SCCA Central Florida Spec Miata Championship. It has been meticulously maintained and equipped with high-quality components selected for reliability, consistency, and front-running performance.
Engine and Performance
• Race engine has only five race weekends
• Exceptionally strong, high-horsepower engine

• Performance achieved by a driver with limited seat time:
• 2:20.123 at Daytona, without a drafting partner
• 2:36.455 at Sebring, without drafting
• When we purchased the car, a Spec Miata team owner with no financial interest in the sale described it as being among the top 1% national level Spec Miatas in the country
• After driving the car for the first time, my son said it felt like a completely different, higher-class race car compared with his previous Spec Miata
